The East Village

Two Kinds of Ruptures
Two kinds of ruptures of the perineum
growths of the heart
look for caresses
from an illuminated subject
such a light center--
Again a horror in another language
for a silent second then the knowledge of burning
all are drained of expression in the sanctuary.
How does the body give up a soul
resigned to break apart? Everywhere this ash--
A day is any day is arrived a day is gone.
Such an open system permits change when the
ground is liable to shift again
the newest surface underfoot for hours.
The buildings are lofty
The buildings are lofty
The buildings are momentary--
That one can use uneven methods of navigation
that a head is wooden after all
that exile is welcome to certain names
that a mouth is unidirectional
that this island is moving
that I continue to dream seven dreams
the buildings are lofty
the buildings are lofty
the buildings are migrating within glass seasons
truncated.
